Interview - 023 - Alexander Klimovich

A very special interview for me and I think also for every other bender out there. No other than Alexander Klimovich said yes to the interview and sent it back to me.

Special for me because Alexander was and is the biggest inspiration when it comes to bending. He has bent bolts and bars, which no other has bent yet over the last years and he is still and since years on the absolute elite level in the double overhand game.

It´s great to see him here on the main cert list with the bend of the 12.9 bolt which is probably the best double overhand bend out there under typical cert rules. As I started this project, this was one of the main goals to see this bend from someone and as I sent the bolts to Alexander I knew that he will bend this bolt with style and he did it after a very short time. Very great to see.

I often check several bends from him to get inspired and to see perfection on the technique, so if you want to see more bends from him check out his youtube channel:

Thanks Alexander for sending the interview back:

When and why did you start steel bending and what does or did your active time look like?

I started bending metal in 2014. It was a desire to make the hands stronger. The inspiration was the videos of famous steel flexors. The first material was rebar from the construction site of 8mm HRS. At first, it was out of order. But over time, I began to bend different metal. I became stronger by adhering to the principle – the next level is harder and always with a victory.

I notice a level that has not yet bent – it may be shortening or reducing the protection or other rated load. Mentally I prepare in a few days. I warm up and start bending. It is important to start with a spiritual uplift and a good (fighting) mood.
